Description # 4 On the right hand corner there is a sign that says that “the whites were here.” The freed slave is begging for mercy because he has lost his family cause the whites killed them.

Description # 5 In this cartoon it shows that the African Americans were not treated very fairly. The black in the cartoon was not properly buried and was just placed on the ground and instead of getting an actual tomb stone he got a piece of wood that says “Negro Killed.”
