3. The only people who were forced to come to America were the Africans. Between 1500-1800, millions of slaves were taken to America from West Africa. They were crammed into ships, chained together and given very little food or water.

4. Many of them died even before they arrived in America. The slaves were forced to work on plantations or in mines. Finally, in 1865, all American slaves were freed.
