Purpose of Career Centers  Career Centers focus on meeting middle promotion and high school graduation requirements and preparing students for gainful employment after high school by providing a variety of Career Technical courses, industry certifications, and dual enrollment opportunities at Pinellas Technical College. 3

Behavioral Programs  Focused on meeting middle school promotion and high school graduation requirements, preparing students for a successful transition back to their zoned schools, and providing students with skills necessary to obtain gainful employment after high school.  Students assigned by area superintendent following major violations of the student code of conduct and/or repeated misconduct.  Length of stay may be one to two semesters. *Enrollment fluctuates due to student reassignment during the year returning to their zoned schools. New this year  Students attending EAS Career Centers may participate in athletics at their zoned schools if they meet FHSAA eligibility criteria.  EAS high school students afforded opportunities to participate in monthly Student Rights and Responsibilities meetings.  New classrooms, a multi-purpose room, a teacher work room and storage space added at Pinellas Gulf Coast Academy. 8

New this year-continued  Attendance Specialist assigned to serve Bayside High School, Pinellas Gulf Coast Academy and Disston Academy.  ESE Specialist assigned to Disston Academy to facilitate services for exceptional education students.  Full-time social worker and behavior specialist assigned to Lealman Innovation Academy.  Bi-lingual assistant provided to assist ELL population at Pinellas Gulf Coast Academy.  Program for over-aged middle school students initiated at Pinellas Gulf Coast and Disston Academies. 9

Next Steps  Implement a Work Experience program at EAS Career Centers.  Continue exploring ways to improve attendance at all EAS sites.  Continue seeking opportunities to expand Career Technical course offerings at Career Centers. 10
