Presentation transcript:

Integrative Health Interest Group (IHIG) IHIG Objectives Promote and nurture self-care of ourselves and our colleagues, an important root of becoming a healer. Educate ourselves and our peers about integrative, complementary, and alternative medicine (ICAM). Spread awareness of and enthusiasm for integrative medicine. Promote increased opportunities to learn about ICAM within the UPSOM's medical curriculum. Support and encourage members in their pursuit of a career in integrative medicine. Create a sustainable organizational structure. Build a network of ICAM practitioners within UPMC and the larger community. Promote interprofessional collaboration in advancing ICAM. Further research in integrative, complementary and alternative medicine and support colleagues in pursuing research in ICAM. Transformation of medical education and practice towards one that embraces our inherent healing ability and approaches healing from a holistic perspective. Inspiring the creation of a health care system that is environmentally sustainable so that we and future generations may live well in a healthy world. We are a student lead group dedicated to wellness and integrative medicine. The foundation of our community is the belief that healing is inherent and that optimal healing takes place when the total human experience is taken into account and supported. We believe that bringing together effective, evidence based allopathic medicine and non-allopathic modalities can provide the greatest opportunity for achieving this philosophy. Congratulations and Welcome to Second Look! Please join our Facebook no matter where your path leads, and we wish you well on that journey. Search “PittMed Integrative Health.”
