Presentation transcript:

Participation Day Exam contents sheet Old Exams Activity 1 Activity 2  Building a tower

Activity 1  Ice breaker, creative thought Have each member in your group draw one line (can be straight, curly, whatever you want, but can not cross itself or another line and you may not lift your pen, it must be one continuous line) Pass the paper to the next member and have him/her draw the next line (can be straight, curly, whatever you want, but can not cross itself or another line and he/she may not lift the pen, it must be one continuous line) Continue until all members have drawn 1 line each on the paper Wait for Laura to tell you the next step

Activity 2  To encourage design, planning and team work! Using only the sheets of newspaper you are given and the tape, construct a tower that will support an object I place on it The winning construction will be the tallest one measured from the ground to where the object is supported. You may NOT attach the tower to anything, even the floor, I should be able to lift up the entire structure if I needed to. The tower must be able to support a full juice box You have 20 minutes starting now to plan and build Valuable Prizes for the winning team

Course Evaluations If you have any ideas about how to make the course more useful/interesting/relevant please let me know (or if there are things you like about the course, like a particular assignment you found useful, let me know that also, so I don’t change it!)
