2. You will need 5 sheets of blank paper (Each sheet must be a different color).
5 sheets of paper = 10 flaps

5. Title Page Your title page should have a lot of color.
It should include:
your name
Honors English
Period 1
You should include appropriate decorations such as:
words
illustrations
anything else appropriate for the foldable

6. Each page should include:
Main job of the part of speech.
Examples of the part of speech (5 examples for each one. Please note, some have different parts, you need 5 for each part.)
Example sentences using the part of speech (2 sentences with the focus part of speech highlighted.)
You can type the information, if you’d like, then just cut it to size. If possible, it might be a good idea to print it on colored paper then cut and glue it to make it more colorful.

7. Example page A noun names a person, place thing or idea.
There are two types of nouns:
common and proper
A common noun is not specific and refers to any general person, place, thing or idea.
A proper noun is specific and names a unique person, place, thing or idea. They are always capitalized.
In this box, you would write two example sentences (with 12 or more words) and highlight all the common nouns blue (or whatever color you choose) and all the proper nouns green (or whatever other color you choose). The point is to be able to use and identify the parts of speech in everyday sentences. Please count your words.

8. This can be used as a guide or you can look up the information on your own.
Not all information is on this sheet so some information will have to be looked up by you.

9. Suggestions
Do not wait until the last minute! Neatness counts, so if your foldable is not up to 8th grade standards, you will not get very many points.
Take your time. You have 2 weeks to do this. You should focus on 1 flap a day so that you are actually learning the parts of speech, not just doing the assignment to do it.
