The Region we’re visiting is the Southwest Region. The Southwest Region has four states in it. They are Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma. We’re all very excited to visit there.

The reasons we would like to go to the southwest region of the United States is because the Grand Canyon and we could visit the four corners and the Rocky Mountains. It is the driest area throughout the West Region, the Midwest Region, the Northeast Region, and the Southwest Region. Its temperature is between 69 degrees fareneight and 134 degrees fareneight. So it is a very good place to get a tan.

When we get to the Southwest we’re going to check in to a Hotel in Oklahoma. In the morning we drive to Arizona to visit the Grand Canyon and raft down the river down the Colorado River. After that we are going to go to New Mexico and go horse back riding and look at the clay houses. Then we are going to go to Texas to see a rodeo in Houston. After that we are going to go back to the Hotel in Oklahoma and get a good night sleep. Then in the morning we are going to check out and fly back to Michigan.

 The Grand Canyon (basin)  The Rocky Mountains  Red River  Half of the Four Corners  The Coastal Plain of the Pacific Ocean

In the Southwest it is very hot so we would wear shorts, T-shirts, hiking boots, tennis shoes, hat, sandals, and just for sleeping’s sake PJ’s, sun glasses, camera, journal and pencil, sun tan lotion, backpack, video camera, wallet, and a map.
