Apprenticeships Workshop – Linking London Conference 21 st May 2010

Apprenticeships Workshop  An overview of the Apprenticeship scheme  An example of a Higher Apprenticeship framework in the Engineering Sector  Progression to Higher Education for Level 3 Apprentices: What can we do?

Apprenticeships Workshop  Progression or dead end?  Over 50% of Level 3 Apprentices would like to progress onto a degree level course  Currently only 3 – 6% of Level 3 Apprentices progress to HE  Currently 5 Higher Apprenticeship frameworks

Apprenticeships Workshop  What can Linking London do?  Project to increase the number of providers involved in Higher Apprenticeship delivery in Engineering  Consider which existing HE courses can provide appropriate progression for Level 3 Apprentices (eg certain Foundation Degrees, flexible work-based provision etc)
