Levels in the Maps Occupations can be put into a hierarchy but this may have little to do with educational levels. We have tried to capture this by using three bands for the occupations. Technical Occupations Higher Technical Occupations Professional These are the skilled occupations that a college leaver or an apprentice would be entering. They will typically require qualifications at levels 2/3 These occupations require a more knowledge and skills acquired through experience in the workplace, further technical education, or a higher apprenticeships. These occupations typically require qualifications at levels 4/5 These occupations are outside of the remit of technical education. But they are included on the map to show degree apprenticeships and potential progression from higher technical occupations. Levels 6+
