"'To whom then will you liken Me that I should be his equal?' says the Holy One" -Isa. 40:25 "You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth." -Ex. 20:3-4

God is physically unapproachable God is Absolute Deity

Effect of God’s Holiness on Us Are we humbled? Our attitude in worship. Our attitude in prayer. Our daily walk in His presence.

Sin’s Effect Sin separates from God (Isa. 59:1) Sin brings God’s wrath (Rom. 1:18) God is a “consuming fire” (Heb. 12:29)

Yet, we are called to be Holy!

How Can We Be Holy as He is Holy?

God’s Desire for the Church Eph. 1:4 "... just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him.“ 1:4,7 “…predestined us to adoption as sons through Christ Jesus to Himself" and in Him provided "redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses."

Heb. 10: "Since therefore, brethren, we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."

We are made holy in Jesus Christ! We are then called to a life of holiness!

Rom. 12:1 - "I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship."

1 st Thess. 4:3-7 - “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; 6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. 7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.”
