The story of European Union In 1945 the second world war ended

1950 Jean Monnet he had a good idea to tell Robert Schuman: the European coal and iron and steel work together. He believes this is a good idea, so he announced a major speech on 9 May 1950.

1950s After the second would war is difficult for Europe to produce to food. EEC decided pay it’s farmers to produce more food. Farmer’s life will become better. So the arrangement was called CAP.

the ecsc was set up in 1951 France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands leaders decided to put their coal and steel industries together, become the club. The club name is ECSC.

the eec was set up in 1957 the six countries THINKS WORKING TOGETHER SO WELL. SO THEY DECIDE STart ANOTHER CLUB. THE ANOTHER CLUB NAME IS EEC. European Economic Community countries have a common market, to make it easier with the trade.

1960 Other neighboring countries saw the people life easier in the EEC In the 1960s the some countries want to join the club.

After years discussions UK and Denmark and Ireland join in Greece join in Portugal and spain join in Austria, Finland and Sweden join in So now EEC had 15 countries.

end of 1992 EEC was working together to protect the environment. Richer countries helped poorer countries A person living a country in the EEC, was free to go or live and find work in EEC other countries. Policeman from different countries help catch criminals,drug smugglers and terrorists.

On 1 January 2007 Bulgaria and Romania join the group. ✦ Now EU has 27countries. ✦
