Marking a “Case Study”?

How is your Case Study marked? Research: Have you got relevant information on both sides of the issue? [4 marks] Science: Can you explain the relevant science about the issue? [8 marks] Conclusion: Can you compare the arguments for and against and the risks and benefits of the issue and present your opinion? [8 marks] Presentation: Can you write about the issue in a clear, structured way, including all these parts? [4 marks]

Why your Case Study is important? Your case study will be marked and contributes 20% to your final Core GCSE grade.

What happens now? You have 6 Science lessons when we return to complete your Case study. Your work will be kept in School and the research that you do will be brought in. You will be given a folder and also a checklist of what you need to do and a mark scheme. There will be an exemplar case study on the school website for you to look at.

Deadline The final deadline for completed work to be given in is: 22 nd June 2007
