1 Section B 8 Mark questions Comparison of Key People who improved Public Health Comparison of how much progress was made in different time periods Comparison of which Key Factors had more impact on the development of Public Health

2 8 Mark Public Health Mark Scheme Level 1: Answer describes the role of one or both key features with limited detail or evidence to back up generalised statements. Answer is basic with simple understanding of punctuation and grammar. (1 – 2 marks) Level 2: Answer talks briefly about both features and compares them simply. Answer describes key points about both features and compares them very generally (3 – 5 marks) OR Answer considers one factor’s contribution to the development of Public Health in depth Level 3: Answer explains and evaluates in depth both feature’s contribution to the development of Public Health. This includes a detailed comparison of both of the key features. Answer shows a developed understanding of spelling punctuation and grammar (6 – 8 marks) General rule = Before, During, After

3 What to include for 8 mark key people questions 1 paragraph on 1 person, 1 paragraph on the other person, 1 paragraph conclusion – evaluating and referring to the main question Who was the person? How did they affect Public Health (what did they do)? (problems) What changed as a result of their work? Why did what they did matter? Directly compare to the other person’s work in the conclusion

4 What to include for 8 mark time period questions 1 Paragraph on 1 time period 1 Paragraph on the other time period 1 paragraph conclusion clearly comparing the time periods What was it like at the beginning of the period, how did it change, how much real progress had been made? How much had peoples’ lives changed or improved?

5 8 Mark factor questions 1 paragraph on 1 factor (examples from 3 time periods) 1 paragraph on the other factor (examples from 3 time periods) 1 paragraph conclusion clearly judging which factor was more signiciant or linking them How did the factor help improve public health? -Try to give examples of the factor’s role from 3 different time periods -THEORIES OF DISEASE COUNT AS A FACTOR FOR THIS SECTION
