48/96 Review What WFLSD Learned? Annual Mileage Traveled

48/96 Review What WFLSD Learned? Firefighter Fatigue 1.Continue to find methods/funding to measure fatigue. 2.Personnel surveys report less potential than “Modified Detroit.” 3.Personnel intuition and general response valid. 4.Ability to adapt to longer shift schedule probable 48 hour shifts as a “norm” versus occasional.

48/96 Review What WFLSD Learned? Health/Wellness Program Doug Bahr writes: “For those FF's who only work out on shift, there are the same amount of shifts per month.” “Many of our FF's consistently come in off duty to work out. This probably occurs more frequently because they are more refreshed during the 4 day and they don't have "station burnout" caused by the feeling they are always at the fire station.

48/96 Review What WFLSD Learned? Health/Wellness Program Doug Bahr writes: “ I believe that in general our FF's are in better condition than in previous years.” “ In general, I do not think the 48/96 has had a detrimental effect on our program and through the support of our Administration with annual Medicals, we are more aware of our own health issues.”
