Canon Powershot A560 BRIEF User Guide

Sign Out the Camera The camera sign-out sheet is in the “Closet” You are responsible for the camera the moment you sign it out. Do not hand the camera over to someone without signing it back in first and the other person can sign it out.

Power Button is top center.

Set the mode dial to auto. This will work for a majority of the pictures you take.

Zoom Lever. Surrounds shutter button This camera has a good optical zoom. The viewfinder may make the picture look “grainy”, but go ahead and click.

Mind your fingers You don’t want to cover these regions on the camera.

Taking a picture. Hold down the shutter button halfway for a moment before pushing down all the way. This gives the camera time to adjust.

Playback / View Pictures There is a 4GB of memory in the camera you don’t need to worry about space. (1000+stored) Take lots of pictures, we will delete later. You can view your pictures by pressing playback button

Continuous Shooting On the bottom of the control dial there is a stacked frame icon this is for continuous shooting. Push the button until it shows up on the display. The camera will take pictures as long as you hold down the shutter button.

Taking Video This camera does have the capacity to capture video with sound. It won’t be great but valuable for candid moments. Change the mode dial to the movie camera icon. Simple.

Playback / View Pictures There is a 4GB of memory in the camera you don’t need to worry about space. (1000+stored) Take lots of pictures, we will delete later. You can view your pictures by pressing playback button

Change batteries This camera takes AA batteries If they are installed wrong it will not power up. (Your batteries might not be dead!) Remember to always carry a spare set of batteries. MAKE SURE YOU BRING BACK THE RECHARGABLES!!!

Upload to computer The mini USB port is under this dirt shield. Attach the cable to the Mac The camera must be powered on to make a connection Open iPhoto to start an automated download Name the folder the date of your download
