Dormitories When we arrived there we got put into dormitories. The girls were in Buttermere and the boys were in Derwent and Coniston. In my dorm I had Lucy, Marley, Katie and Mollie. Groups On day one we found out who our leader was going to be. Our leader for the activities was Mrs Rawlinson; I was so happy that I was with her!

Raft Building Later on we went to our first activity which was raft building. We had to split up into groups of five. I was with Sam S, Faye, Alex and Jacob. We worked really well together and managed to make our raft float on top of the fish infested water. As we were getting confident we got told to stand up on top of the raft. Alex, Faye and Jacob fell in but me and Sam were able to stay on !! Later on we went to our first activity which was raft building. We had to split up into groups of five. I was with Sam S, Faye, Alex and Jacob. We worked really well together and managed to make our raft float on top of the fish infested water. Fencing Our second activity was fencing. In fencing we learnt a lot about how to block and how to move in the right way. We put on equipment as you can see in the picture.

Challenge Course We also did the challenge course on the first day. It was really fun because we had to swing on ropes, go underneath nets, balance and do races. At the end we played a game. The game involved us having to move around on crates all around the course. The instructor then told us we weren't allowed to say crates, but instead we had to say shinificals. Also, we weren't allowed to speak or touch the floor, but if somebody broke the rules we had to all face a horrible forfeit such as doing gangnam style dance in the middle of the field! Disco At the disco we were all dancing, but if you didn’t want to or needed a rest, you could sit in the lounge. The disco was fun and loud !!!

Canoeing On day two we did canoeing; it was amazing. We paddled along the lake in groups and played some games. We found a dying carp and the instructor picked it up and threw it into the reeds. Problem Solving Also on day two, we did problem solving. It was tricky but fun at the same time. We had to try and balance on a massive wooden seesaw (we managed to do it). We also did one where there was a spiders web and we had to get through to the other side going through the gaps, but as soon as somebody went through that gap, that gap closed. Abseiling I remember plunging myself over the edge of the wall and slowly making my way down to the ground. High ropes The high ropes were probably my best activity, because we did a variety of different things like the gladiator and the leap of faith. The gladiator was were we got into partners and started to make our way up a obstacle course, it was so fun. We also did the leap of faith - I didn’t make it but I touched it! Zip wire Also on day two we did the zip wire. The instructor told us loads of instructions, I couldn’t even remember them all at first, but when I dropped off the edge I remembered. Extreme Team Even though I wasn’t there for the whole of this activity because I was in Shakespeare, I still enjoyed the parts when I could join in. Even though I wasn’t there for the whole of this activity because I was in Shakespeare, I still enjoyed the parts when I could join in.

Archery On the third and final day we did archery. When we arrived at archery we got given a pad to put on our arms so that when we pulled back the string on the bow it wouldn’t give us a bruise. At first I was bad, I wasn’t even hitting the target, but then I started to get the hang of it and managed to get some good scores. On the third and final day we did archery.
