1. Week Without Walls Reflection By: Layan Suleiman 7A

2. WWW Activities (What) Day 1 On the first day of the week the girls and boys were separated. We (the girls) were out the whole day. We went to the flower nursery first and a man told us how they grow flowers here in Qatar and then we got to take some flowers home. Then we went to Suoq Wakif, we were allowed to go off on our own in a group of friends. After that we went to the student center and ate and just had fun. Then we went back to school and went home.

4. WWW Activities (What) Day 2 & 3 In these two days I was absent because I can’t walk well and I shouldn’t get tired. I do know what the class did. On both days girls and boys were separated again. On Monday they went to an animal centre and spent the rest of the day in school. They had to practice and learn kayaking because the next day they went to Al-Khor to kayak in the sea. So after they finished kayaking I think they spent the whole day in Al-Khor and went to the mall to eat.

6. WWW Activities (What) Day 4 & 5 On Wednesday we all went to Lulu Hyper Market to see where our food comes from. There were products that came form America Saudi Arabia, France,etc. Then we went back to school and watched a short movie on food security. After that we started making our products out of recycled objects for the WWW presentations. I chose to make a necklace out of magazine beads. I got most of it done but I still didn’t put it together because I needed string and I had that at home. The next day we went to Katara. First we had a small tour of it and saw this amazing model of all of Katara. Then we went to a museum that has photos of the environment. Then we had a snack and went on a boat trip for 30 mins. To me the boat trip was the best part. It was so fun and the weather and water were beautiful, I had a great time. Then we went back to school and finished our products, had a short break, then we went home.

7. AOI Focus (So What) The Area of Interaction (AOI) focus for my activity was Environments. When we went to Souq Wakif I saw how the Qatari environment was in the past. When we went to the flower nursery I learnt how people are trying to grow flowers in this hot environment and I got a bigger idea of how our environment affects plants.

8. Learner Profile I felt that I had the opportunity to exhibit the Caring learner profile because I learned that we need to take care of our environment. I learned that I should care about the flowers and plants that grow in this environment because they are hard to grow so I shouldn’t just step over them or pull them out of the ground.

9. What Next? (Now What) I would love to continue learning about how the environment changed from the past to the present. I would also like to go on as much trips as we did this week, not stay in school doing activities.
