For any text you have to write, consider: P urpose A u dience L anguage L ayout

Purpose: 1. Why are you writing the text? 2. How do you want people to respond? 3. What words are you going to use to make sure they respond in this way?

Audience: Who are you writing to? Male/Female? Young/teenage/middle aged/old? Rich/poor? Busy/time on their hands?

Language: Once you know WHY you are writing and WHO you are writing to: What words do you need to use to suit the purpose and the audience? Formal/informal? Add humour? Be serious? Use language features

Language Features: USE the language features you were looking for and commenting on in question 3 in the reading section

To sum up: 1. Get PALL right 2. Write clearly and imaginatively 3. Use language features! 4. Organise ideas properly 5. USE PARAGRAPHS 6. Guide your reader through your ideas 7. Use short and long sentences and paragraphs 8. Capital letters, commas, full stops!!!!!

Remember: There are 40 marks available. How many marks do you need to gain a C grade? This section is a perfect opportunity to show off and earn lots of marks!

You have been writing since you were 4 years old! You know how to do it!! You have 1 hour to show them how brilliant you are!!!
