Compare & Contrast EQ: What clue words tell me that objects in the story are being compared or contrasted?

Authors often use compare & contrast when they write.  When you compare, you look at how things are alike.  You use Clue Words like:  same  both  alike  like  in common  also

Frogs and toads are both cold-blooded animals. They use the sun to keep them warm. Like toads, frogs live in water and on land. Frogs and toads are alike in other ways. They both lay eggs and can live for many years. However, these animals have some differences. Frogs are smooth and slippery. But most toads are dry and have warts.
