#26 Simple Future Tense

What does it mean? The simple future tense is a way of saying “going to _____” with the blank being a verb. Ex. I am going to eat pancakes on Wednesday. She is going to sleep. We are going to dance in the street. They are going to do their homework. You are going to drive to school in the morning.

Formula The formula for forming the simple future tense is A form of Ir + a + an infinitive Remember your conjugated forms of ir are voy, vas, va, vamos, vais, and van. Remember an infinitive is an un-conjugated verb, or a verb that has not been put into the chart.

Examples I am going to eat-Yo voy a comer. She is going to dance.-Ella va a bailar. We are going to study.-Nosotros vamos a estudiar. They are going to sleep.-Ellos van a dormir. You are going to walk.-Tú vas a caminar. All of these sentences follow the formula of : A form of Ir + a + and infinitive
