Game for the Ring CYA Project Tyler Jones 4 th Period

NBA Finals: Game 7 You are the star player for the Saint Louis Hawks. The Hawks are the underdogs to the greater Boston Celtics, and everyone doubts your team. The first quarter has passed, and you only have 10 points. Their best defender is on you, and he has caused you to have 7 turnovers. The end of the second quarter indicates halftime. You look into the crowd, and you feel everyone’s eyes on you. 65,000 people in the stadium just to watch a game. You go sit on the bench, and coach begins to tell you that the team needs to help when Boston’s best player and the MVP, Walter Brown. Walter has 30 and it’s only the start of the third. The coach sits you the whole third quarter, and you’re heated. The fourth quarter is here, and coach pulls you off the bench and says “You are playing the entire fourth quarter, Get us back in this game!” You walk out on the court, and look around. You thank God for bringing you here, and ask for his help through this game. Now you focus your mind on this championship. You guys have the ball, and inbound it. Mama There Goes That Man! You dribble up the court hit him with a quick cross then stop and step back. When he moves towards you cross him over and drive hard to the rim. You jump and spin and reverse slam. The crowd roars. You move back up the court. Next

Splash You dribble up the court, and size him up. You dribble through your legs and he reaches. You whip it around your back and step back. You pull the three and drain it. The crowd roars. You move back up the court. Next

30 Seconds Your bucket ties the game. Walter moves down the court, everyone know he was going to score. You stay with your man, while Walter dribbles the clock down to 20 seconds, and begins his move. Coach yells “double team” and the closest man rushes him, Walter steps back and splits the double team. He pulls the mid range and hits it. Next

Coach calls timeout Coach draws up a play for the last 10 seconds. You already know you are the one who is going to score. He writes a simple back door pass into either a three or J to win or tie. The horn blows and players begin moving to the floor. The stadium gets quiet. The refs hand the in-bounder the ball. Next

Clutch Factor You get into position and the in-bounder slaps the ball. You run underneath a screen then over another. You catch the ball the defender moves closer and puts a hand up. 1) Run the clock down for last shot Run the clock down for last shot 2) Make your move. Make your move.

Game Winner You back out to the three point line and look at the clock, 8 seconds left. He moves up to deny the shot. You jab step and move towards the rim, you pull up over the defender and drain it as the buzzer sounds! That’s the game. Your basketball skills are unmatched. Fantastic job, now come back next year and do it over. Back to beginning

Clutch Shots You dribble in and spin move into a turnaround jumper. You hit the jumper and your team is winning now. The other team calls timeout and your team runs out to celebrate with you. Walter Brown steps back onto the court, and glances at you. You are told to guard him. He gets the ball with 7 seconds left, and dribble towards you. Suddenly he hits you with a quick crossover and makes you fall on your bottom. Next

Game Over As you fall, everything silences and you watch Walter elevate. He releases and the buzzer sounds. Your heart drops as he sinks the shot. You’ve failed. Start Over
