Spanish American War Causes The Treaty of Paris of 1898, which ended the war granted independence to this country which Americans empathized with The explosion of this ship in the Cuban Harbor triggered the US to declare war on Spain This cause of the Spanish American war told stories of Spanish atrocities against the Cuban people This letter sent from Spain ridiculed President McKinley and caused Americans to be angry at Spain The mistreatment of Cuban civilians by this guy led the US to go to war against Spain

Mostly Spanish American War This monarchy was overthrown by a group of planters supported by the US Marines The Spanish American War allowed the US to annex Guam and this country that is still a US territory This guy was chosen as McKinley’s running mate because of his status as a war hero The US paid 20 million for this country after the Spanish American War because the islands would provide the US with a naval base This amendment established the U.S. naval base in Guantanamo
