Florida Digital Archive PREMIS and DAITSS

Florida Digital Archive

DAITSS Strictly modeled on OAIS “Dark” – no online public interface Implements format normalization and forward migration at time of Ingest DAITSS 1.0 partly PREMIS conformant DAITSS 2.0 entirely conformant

Florida Digital Archive

PREMIS Support In DAITSS 1 Intellectual Entities and File Objects Bitstream objects but non-conformant AIP & DIP Descriptors = METS + local DAITSS schema Could supply most PREMIS values by mapping from DAITSS stored values No Environment or Significant Properties

Florida Digital Archive PREMIS Support In DAITSS 2 AIP & DIP Descriptors = PREMIS-in- METS –validated with Schematron Implement Representation Objects –if any SIP file(s) normalized or migrated, new representation created Make BitStream Objects conformant –follow definition in the data dictionary

Florida Digital Archive Events in DAITSS 2 Crucial to Ingest workflow –relies on Events to know what’s been done Can Ingest external Events –e.g. from TIPR Exchange Package Events occuring after Ingest (i.e. fixity checks) –recorded and saved –added to Descriptor at time of Dissemination
