Energy and Environment Programme (EEP) launched at UN World Summit on Sustainable Development (Johannesburg, 2002) First experience: EEP Central America 2008: MFA Finland approves an Engagement Plan with the Mekong Region from 2008 to 2012 with a thematic focus on energy, especially renewable energy, natural resources and rural development.

 To contribute to improved access to energy and energy services and reduction of greenhouse gas  emissions   As a result of the EEP activities rural households, livelihoods and SMEs will have better access to RE services and technology

 A broad range of RE and EE solutions are adopted in energy related policies and strategies and are implemented by public and private actors through a wider range of partnerships and funding mechanisms.
