Bathing a Baby 50 Lessons Over Easy 1

1.Have all the articles you will need for the bath and for dressing the baby afterwards. Collect soap, shampoo, a towel, a brush, a diaper, wipes, and clothes and socks. 2. Make this an opportunity for a “good time” with your baby. 2

3.Be sure the room is warm. 4.Give a sponge bath until the umbilical cord has fallen off and the circumcision is healed. 5.It is a good idea to wash behind the ears, neck, hands and bottom on a daily basis even it your do not give your baby a full bath every day. 3

6.Do not use soap on baby’s face. Use a mild soap and shampoo. A newborn’s skin is very sensitive. 7.Never leave the baby unattended in the bath tub or around water. 8.Check the temperature. The temp should be body temp. Always check the bath water before placing the baby in it. 4

9. Get a good grip on the baby. A wet baby is a slippery baby. 10. If your baby develops cradle-cap, simply remove the flakes gently with a soft brush after shampooing. 11. A portable bath is ideal for baby’s first baths. Place a towel underneath to prevent slipping. 5
