Presentation transcript:

Mobile phones have changed the way we communicate, they allow us to send text messages and call people while on the go. Modern android phones such as the iPhone, not only allow us to text and call, but also to access the internet and use many different random apps. Such apps include music, books, social media and gaming. However some mobile phones can be easily damaged by physical damage and also by water exposure.

Social media has the changed the way share information, photos, videos and also the way we organise events. Facebook allows us to write statuses to share with our social friends and also share photos and videos. It also allows us to bookmark key moments in our lives on our timelines. Twitter allows you to share information via tweets and give a first hand account of life events. Social media can be accessed through a computer/laptop and android phones with internet connections. Problems of social media include profiles without privacy settings being viewed without the person knowing.

Online shopping through the internet allows us to buy and sell items from the comfort of our own homes. Sites such as Amazon and eBay allow us to buy items not only from organised companies but also from other members of the public. They also allow us to sell our old unwanted items for a set price however eBay also allows a bidding audience to place bids over a few days. Problems of online shopping also occur such as fraud and items arriving in poor condition.

The internet allows us to research openly any thing we wish to. This has the changed the way school children and students research the things the things the wish to write essays about. It allows for the first time research from the comfort of our homes without the access to books and other sources of information or the need to go the library. However this could to plagiarism problems with students potentially copying directly from the internet.

Microsoft office has changed the way we present and collect information. PowerPoint allows people to present presentations with the comfort of a backing PowerPoint presenting useful information, graphs and photos. Word allows us to write stories, collect information and complete work and school tasks with the safety of spellcheck and grammar check. However important work can be lost through the loss of files due to a number of reasons.

Computer games allow us to relax by escaping to another world. Computer games have become extremely popular over recent years especially with young people as they allow you to do things never possible in real life. Consoles such as the Xbox and PlayStation allow to you to venture to another world by just entering a disc. However computer games are not popular with everyone with some saying they get in the way of young peoples school work an encourage them to stay inside.

There can be many problems involved with social media. One of these problems is young children being allowed to full access to internet seeing explicit content and getting groomed on online chat rooms. Problems also occur due to computer viruses leading to the corruption and loss of files. People can also suffer problems if their online accounts such as are hacked which can lead to many other problems.
