John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Do You Believe In Jesus? John 3:16

1. He is God Perhaps this sounds elementary, but there are some who believe in Jesus, but not as God in the flesh Some believe He is just a god, a prophet or simply a good man According to Jesus, it matters what we believe about Him (Matt. 16:16)

1. He is God “In the beginning was the Word…and the Word was God” (Jn. 1:1) “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” (Jn. 1:14) Jesus is exactly who He claimed to be, and that is God in the flesh!

1. He is God Even God referred to Jesus as His Son (Matt. 3:17) Jesus said that if we do not believe in Him as God’s Son, then we will die in our sins (Jn. 8:24) Believing in Jesus means believing in His deity

2. He fulfilled prophecy Those who do not believe that Jesus is God’s Son most likely do not believe that He was the fulfiller of OT prophecy There are well over 300 prophecies concerning the Messiah who was to come Jesus fulfilled every one of those prophecies

2. He fulfilled prophecy Isaiah 7:14 prophesies specifics about His birth Details about His death were prophesied about in Isaiah 53 We see in Luke 4:16-21 that Jesus read from Isaiah 61:1-2 and told all that it was a prophecy concerning Him

3. He died sinless for our sins If one believes that Jesus was simply a prophet or just a man, then they would not believe that He was a sinless sacrifice “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (Jn. 1:29) Paul told Timothy that Jesus came to save sinners (I Tim. 1:15)

3. He died sinless for our sins We are redeemed “with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (I Pet. 1:19) “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God…” (I Pet. 3:18) Do you believe that Jesus was w/o spot?
