495 NE O’Neil Way, Redmond, OR. 97756 The Prineville Freight Depot’s Bulk Transload Facility is located at the west end of the City of Prineville Railway mainline, where the COP interchanges with the Oregon Trunk Line; offering access to both the BNSF Railway Company and Union Pacific Class I Railroads. The 12 acre facility is located approx.. 2.5 miles north of Redmond, Oregon and .75 miles east of Highway 97, a major north/south route in the region. 495 NE O’Neil Way, Redmond, OR. 97756 Before Construction

The recently completed facility offers two 1,000’ spurs for the transfer of bulk commodities, a 3,000’ spur for additional car staging and storage, plus three tanker car spots complete with catch trays and containment tanks. The site is equipped with a mobile 100 ton/hour Compton transfer conveyor and is switched daily by the City of Prineville Railway. The Bulk Transload facility is the third phase of an ambitious project undertaken by the City of Prineville to revitalize the services offered by the City of Prineville Railway which started operations in 1918 and has created a regional multi-modal transportation hub.

The Prineville site is also home to Envirotech Services, a producer of deicer and dust abatement products. Recently, part of the Facility was leased to a company that produced over 200 temporary housing units for use in the Panama Canal widening project. The majority of the funding for the projects has been provided by the State of Oregon’s “Connect Oregon” program which has done much to jump start the building and revitalization of the state’s transportation infrastructure.

The first two phases created the Prineville Freight Depot, which is located 2.5 miles west of Prineville, adjacent to the COPR mainline. The Freight Depot is located on a 40+ acre site and includes over 140,000 sq.ft. of warehouses as well as a 25 ton over rail bridge crane which is used for both cargo transfer and rail car repair. The Warehouses are designed to allow for drive through unloading/loading which insures that cargo is protected from the elements. The covered rail docks are wider than normal to allow for the sorting and organizing of product and situated close to truck docks and warehouse space to allow efficient transfer of product.
