 AMMSA- Aboriginal Multi Media Society  They provide monthly newspaper issues and radio broadcast CFWE fm.  AMMSA has a variety of newspapers- Windspeaker, Alberta Sweetgrass, Sask Sage, Ont Birchbark, Ravens Eye, & Buffalo Spirit.  The person that I interviewed is Bert Crowfoot  Where he started, what he does now, and his future plans.

 AMMSA began, incorporated under the Alberta Societies Act, published monthly issues of Windspeaker, and everyday Radio broadcast CFWE fm.  (NCP) Native Communications Program cut 100% of funding (Wake Up Call) financially and politically  Bert Crowfoot became a publisher for Windspeaker with goals to provide news and information views from a national perspective.  Windspeaker surviving publication  Ammsa and Windspeaker are undergoing an expansion and growth with 3 additions publications

 Mar ‘83- Windspeaker (celebrating 30 years) publishes 24,000 copies per 12 months,  Dec ’93- Alberta Sweetgrass  Oct ’96 Sask Sage  May ’97- Ravens Eye  Jan ’02- Ontario Birchbark  CFWE fm radio- Alberta’s first broadcasting radio. Serve’s 54 alberta communities

 Chief Executive Officer, General Manager of CFWE, Publisher of Windspeaker  31 years ago, Bert created Windspeaker  Self taught everything there is to know about the Media business  Journalism? – Bert began as a sports freelancer in Nov. 1977,Got him a full-time position for a sports reporter, & also developing photos for a Black and white newspaper.  Sports Editor, Assistant Editor, and then Editor by default in 1981/through the cut in Staff.  37 years in Photo Journalism- tells story through pictures for the newspaper  8-9 years Powwow photographer

 Bert runs the Windspeaker organization.  His main duties consists of hiring people to run departments for Ammsa, management,  Is part of a staff of 12 people

 120 lbs ago- when Bert was 21 years old he danced in the adult Men’s Fancy dance category  For 8-9 years recently he was interested in taking powwow photography  Bucketlist photography with partner Terry.  Contributed four exibitions

 In 2015 Bert plans to go to Italy to showcase an exibition based on his photography  Creative images/ works with other artists, with a lot of concepts, capturing photography using digital technology.  Grizzly bears in Alaska  Vancouver Island- 300 canoes
