2 Lincoln Trail Elementary STLP STLP Goal 2 At the beginning of the school year, 3 rd - 5 th grade students are given an application to apply for STLP. The applications are narrowed down by teacher recommendations and performance in the classroom. These students will be able to enroll in the STLP showcases. All students in Kindergareten – 5 th grade have a library time once a month. During this time all students utilize technology and are taught how to use various programs that qualify for STLP.

5 Lincoln Trail Elementary School News Broadcasts Goal 1 The STLP will develop activities which enhance the academic, social and emotional growth of the student. Goal 2 The STLP will provide leadership opportunities for all students. The WLTN News Team produces a live news broadcast for the school each morning. STLP members serving on the news crew arrive at school early to work on the daily broadcast. WLTN News consists of school events as well as community activities.

7 Goal 3 Students will participate in multi-age collaboration by forming innovative learning partnerships. Goal 4 The STLP will form learning partnerships among students with different technology skills.  The 2011-2012 news crew will consist of students from 5 th grade. Fourth grade students are trained at the end of the year by the 5 th graders.  Student directors work with students of varying technological skill levels to continually add to and enhance existing skills.

8 Getting Out the News Lincoln Trail Elementary plans to highlight our future STLP accomplishments through our school newsletters, our local newspaper, through our school and district website, and by participation in local, district, and regional showcases. Examples range from participation in  Local, regional, and state events where STLP students performed a role  Gifted and Talented Students statewide Mock Stock Market Contests  School and Community Events

9 The STLP will develop activities which enhance the academic, social, and emotional growth of the student.  Lincoln Trail Elementary STLP students will have the opportunity to attend the Hardin County School District 2011 Computer Summer Camp and learn how to set up and troubleshoot student workstations.  Lincoln Trail Elementary students will assist with setting up computer labs and cleaning computers.  The students will also create informational brochures and Power Points about Lincoln Trail to acclimate new students and parents to the school.

10 The STLP will develop activities which benefit communities. Lincoln Trail Elementary participates in many projects that provide services to the community. Some of these projects include:  can food drives for the needy  clothing donations through our Family Resource Center Center  Box Tops for Education  Jump Rope for Heart  Angel Tree – classes buy for their “angel”

11 Promoting Lincoln Trail Elementary STLP students are given the opportunity to show off our school by taking pictures of special events and activities at our school. The pictures and articles are often posted on the Hardin County School District web site and in our local newspaper. This gives the community and other students the opportunity to enjoy the happenings at Lincoln Trail Elementary. The STLP will provide leadership opportunities for all students. The STLP will develop activities which benefit communities.
