Villages Charisma and Andrea

Villages-definition A village is a clustered human settlement or community, larger than a hamlet, but smaller than a town or city.

Indian Villages "The soul of India lives in its villages," declared M. K. Gandhi at the beginning of 20th century. According to the 2001 Indian census, 74% of Indians live in 638,365 different villages. The size of these villages varies considerably. 236,004 Indian villages have a population less than 500, while 3,976 villages have a population of 10,000+. Most villages have their own temple, mosque or church depending on the local religious following.

Nagoor Nagoor is one such village with 500 families with main stay of agriculture. It is located down south of India in Tanjore district. This village has no electricity and people use no LPG and still use fire wood and kerosene for cooking. Most of them live in huts with low infrastructure

Literacy level Most of them are not passed fifth standard. It has one middle school run by the state Government Most of the children in the school are first generation learners. Parents are bend upon sending their children to schools.

Mission at hand How do we empower the village with fuel, electricity and Gas? How do we sustain the development and lead them to the future? Is it possible and feasible to generate our own energy?
