 Training Day  13 th February 2016  Training Weekend  12 th to 13 th March 2016  Competition Weekend  9 th to 10 th April 2016 West Lancashire Scouts Bowlander 2016

Where The training day will be held on Beacon Fell and the training weekend at Waddecar Scout Activity Centre. However, the Competition weekend camp is a secret until a month or so before the event.

What is it? This is a 2 day Hiking Competition. –Where you could achieve the following badges. Expedition Challenge Award Work towards your: –Adventure Challenge –Outdoor Challenge –Team Leader Challenge –Teamwork Challenge –Hill Walker Activity Badge –Nights Away Staged Badges –Hikes Away Staged Badges

I don’t know what to do!! 2 training events are organised by West Lancashire Scouts. –Your own leaders should also provide other training events

What do I need to understand? Map and compass reading. Walking times across rough moorland Walking a distance of 20km in a day Basic camping with no facilities provided. –Scouts must be able to look after themselves as a team for the duration of the camp. –Scouts must be able to cook their own food.

How much will this cost 2016’s event will cost as follows:- –The Training day event will be £3 per Scout. –The Training weekend will be £10 per Scout. –The Competition Weekend will be £13 per team, plus £2.50 per Scout in the team. –Closing date for entry to the event - 13 th March 2016.
