The Vision School and City are committed to working together cooperatively to foster 21st Century Learning Skills to improve student outcomes, to support our local economy, and to ensure the City grows as a local and global center of innovation Chief Sanchez visits Pasadena High School Law & Public Service Pathway

Year 1 Highlights: 13 Community Facilitators trained to conduct Result Team process Review and sharing of data across agencies – Early Development Instrument (EDI) administered to PUSD Kindergarten students last year with UCLA/First 5 LA – Secured funding to administer 40 Developmental Assets survey at 8 th grade this year in partnership with the Pasadena YMCA City of Pasadena Parks & Recreation

Year 1 Highlights (cont’d): Increased collaboration and coordination between PUSD and City staff: – Communications team joint response and outreach – After school programs – College & Career Pathways – Health & Nutrition – Joint professional development – Strengthened grant opportunities – Events & more Curbside Coffee Chat at Wilson Middle School

A few of the challenges faced this year: Capacity to inventory resources to effectively identify duplication and gaps needed greater focus, buy-in and support across multiple agencies Representation of some key stakeholders and coalitions missing from Result Teams Engaging existing coalitions and community groups More opportunities to engage key decision-makers on an ongoing basis needed

Result Team Recommendations: Comprehensive Community-wide inventory of services and resources A need for a systematic approach to data sharing and communicating System-wide focus on service delivery to better understand gaps and reduce duplications in services Governance structure that oversees systematic change so that resources are used to eliminate root causes of problems; and promotes institutionalization of promising practices Trash 4 Teaching project at Washington Accelerated Elementary School
