The Basics of Motorcycle Safety in Delaware. Delaware Office of Highway Safety Corporate Outreach Summer 2015

Always look twice before turning into traffic. Be vigilant when changing lanes. Be aware of riding in blind spots. Always follow the posted speed limits. Never drive distracted or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Wear all appropriate safety gear. Be aware of blind spots. Use proper lane position. Keep a safe distance from other vehicles. Know your bike and how it handles under different conditions. Be alert for debris, wet surfaces, and uneven pavement. Never ride under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

All road users, from the smallest motorcycle to the largest truck, have a responsibility to keep the roads safe. Help us spread the message: Share the road and keep a safe distance from motorcyclists. - NHTSA, 2015
