What does it mean to be responsible? RESPONSIBILITY What does it mean to be responsible?

Be Prepared for Class Plan ahead. Bring what you need.

I don’t want to be late for class. Be On Time Plan ahead. Make good use of your time. I don’t want to be late for class.

Follow Directions Look at the person. Respond appropriately. Do what you have been asked.

Accept “No” for an Answer Look at the person. Stay calm. Respond appropriately. I’m sorry, but my answer is No!

Accept the Consequences Look at the person. Respond appropriately. Do not argue.

RESPECT Examples of Respect: Speaking politely when making a request. Not making fun of others. Taking care of property. Asking permission to borrow something. Making compromises. Listening to other’s point of view.

Manage Conflict Stay calm. Be polite. Listen to other’s point of view. State your point of view. Compromise, if possible. Seek adult assistance if necessary.

Fairness

Treat Others the Way You Want to Be Treated. Follow the rules. Take turns and share. Do your best. Do your part. Do your own work. Accept the difference between equal and fair.
