Density Graph Rules of Construction

Density Graphing Rules  First, look at all your values for mass and volume.  Next, decide on a scale that best suits your values for volume. Plot these on your x- axis. Remember….your scale must be constant.  Next, decide on a scale that best suits your values for mass. Plot these on your y- axis. Again, the scale must be constant but does not have to be the same as the x- axis scale.

 Remember…..  D (slope of line) = M (y-axis) / V (x- axis)  Plot all data points on your graph paper. Connect these points back to (0,0). Do not connect the dots!  Graph Title: Y Axis Vs. X Axis Eg. Mass Vs. Volume for 7 Metal Samples
