Food p. 64 “A Restaurant Menu” Appetizers – finger foods usually served prior to a meal. Salads – dish consisting of small pieces of food. Entrees – dish served before the main course. Side Dishes – food item that accompanies the entrée. Desserts – course that concludes a main meal. Usually a menu in the restaurants (not only in England ) is divided into 5 parts:

Food p. 64 “A Restaurant Menu” Also called hors d’oeuvres, antipasti, or starters. Usually served prior to a meal, or in between mealtimes. They may range from the very simple to the very complex. Shrimp cocktail, calamari, salad, potato skins. Mussels, bruschetta or cheese an crackers. Traditionally, a meal starts from appetizers. Such tradition is used in the whole world.
