What Is It? Bloom’s taxonomy is a multi-tiered model of classifying thinking according to 6 cognitive levels of complexity AKA Higher Level Thinking Leads to a greater purpose for reading Progression of thinking

KNOWLEDGE- Recall of specific Information Verbs: Name Tell List Describe Relate Locate Write Question Stems: What happened After…? How many…? Who was it that..? Can you name the…? Describe what happened at… Who spoke to…? Can you tell me why…? Activities/Products: Make a timeline of events List all the ……in the story Make a chart showing… Write as many facts as you can remember…

COMPREHENSION- Understanding of what was read Verbs: Explain Interpret Outline Predict Restate Describe Question Stems: What was the main idea…? Can you write in your own words…?
