CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION AND PREVIOUS WORK As energy demands around the world increase, the need for a renewable energy source that will not harm the environment has been increased. Some projections indicate that the global energy demand will almost triple by 2050 [1]. Renewable energy sources currently supply somewhere between 15% and 20% of total world energy demand. Photovoltaic, PV, and wind energy system, WES, are the most promising as a future energy technology [2]. A 30% contribution to world energy supply from renewable energy sources by year 2020 would reduce the energy related CO 2 emission by 25 %.
Benefits of Renewable Energy sources No smoke or pollution Free of Charge Low kWh Cost No CO 2 emission Enhance diversity in energy supply markets and strengthen energy security Contribute to the securing of long term Offer low operating cost. High power quality.
