Microsoft Word Study Guide Test 8 6 th grade MSBCS-BCSI-8 Students will utilize word processing software.

Insert, Typeover Insert- feature is active when you open a software program. Move the insertion point to where you want to insert copy; key the new text. Existing copy will move to the right Typeover- allows you to replace current copy with newly keyed text Mode buttons

Bold, Italic, Underline Bold - feature prints text darker than other copy, CTRL + B Italic - feature prints letters that slope up toward the right, CTRL + I Underline - feature underlines text as it is keyed, CTRL + U Format menu, Font

Alignment Alignment- refers to the horizontal postion of a line of text Left alignment - start text at the left margin, CTRL + L Right alignment - start text at the right margin, CTRL + R Center - center lines of text between the left and right margins, CTRL + E Format menu, Paragraph

Undo, Redo Undo - feature to reverse the last change you made in text Redo - feature to reverse the last Undo action Edit menu

Hyphenation Hyphenation- feature automatically divides (hyphenates) words that would normally wrap to the next line Tools menu, Language
