2 What is Microsoft Word? Microsoft Word is a word processing software package. You can use it to type letters, reports, and other documents. This lesson introduces you to the Word window. You use the Word window to interact with Microsoft Word. Save this document with file name (Sample.docx).

3 Applying and Removing Bold, Underline and Italics
Open a Document Sample.docx Select the text “Microsoft Word” to make attractive. Click the Bold/Italic/Underline Button on the Home menu Select the text to remove the formatted text Click the Bold/Italic/Underline button again.

4 Changing Font Size and Font Type
Changing Font of Existing Text Select the text “documents” to change the typescript. On the Home menu, click the down arrow of the Font Box (eg: Times News Roman) Select the desired font ( eg: Arial Black)

5 Changing Size of Existing Text
Select the text “documents” to change the typescript. On the Home menu, click the down arrow of the Font Size Box (eg: 12) Note: Font size is specified in points. There are 72 points in 1 inch. Can change the size up to 1638 points

6 Changing The Font Size and Font Type
Changing Font of New Text Move the insertion point to the location where want to type the new text Open the Font drop-drown box on the Home menu. Select the desired font and enter the text Myanmar2 or Myanmar3. Press Enter. Type the new text (H2O is Water) and it will appear in the newly specified font.

7 Changing Text Alignment
Select the paragraph under the “What is Microsoft Word?” title to change the alignment of text. On the Home menu, there are the Align Left, Center, Align Right and Justify button. Click Justify button.

8 Inserting Bullet and Numbering
Move the insertion point to the location where want to insert bullets. Open the Home menu and select bullet list and bullet style. Inserting Numbering Move the insertion point to the location where want to insert numbering. Open the Home menu and select Number list and Number style.

9 Using Indents Open the file Using Sample.docx
Select the first paragraph Click the increase indent button to move the selected text to right Click the decrease indent button to move the selected text to left.

10 Adjust Line Spacing Select the first paragraph
Click the paragraph on the Home menu Choose one of the options. (1.5)

11 Inserting Special Characters
Click the insertion point where you want to insert the special character to appear Open the Insert menu and select Symbol The Symbols tab, choose Font and Subject that contains the special character you want Double click the character you want to insert and then click Close button

12 Using Myanmar Font Position the insertion point to enter Myanmar Language. Click down arrow to the right of the Font box and Choose Myanmar font(Myanmar2, Myanmar3, Zawgyi-One,…) Click down arrow to the right of the Font Size box and choose 14 (if necessary) Check Caps Lock Key. Caps Lock’s light must be closed.
