ARMY IN KOREA Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program (SAPRP) Redeployment / Post Deployment Training for Korea

This Redeployment / Post Deployment Training is intended for Soldiers that are TDY or Visiting Korea and Returning to a CONUS Duty/Home Station. This training should be conducted prior to their departure from Korea. This training does not meet the requirements for Unit Level Training. What is Sexual Assault? Sexual Assault - intentional sexual contact, characterized by use of force, physical threat or abuse of authority or when the victim does not or cannot consent; sexual assault can occur without regard to gender, spousal relationship, or age

What is Consent? Consent - shall not be deemed or construed to mean the failure by the victim to offer physical resistance. Consent is not given when a perpetrator uses force, threat of force, coercion, or when the victim is asleep, incapacitated, or unconscious

ALL USFK Civilian and Military Personnel If you become aware of a Sexual Assault report it to Law Enforcement Or Chain of Command Chain of Command

Sexually Assaulted? Go to a safe location away from the attacker Contact your local Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC), Victim Advocate (VA) or healthcare provider Seek medical care as soon as possible Preserve all evidence of the assault. Do not bathe, wash your hands or brush your teeth. Do not clean or straighten up the crime scene Write down, tape or record by any other means all the details you can recall about the assault and your assailant

Report to anyone including: – SARC – UVA – Health Care Provider (HCP) – Chain of Command (COC) – Supervisory Chain – Law Enforcement (LE) – MCIO UNRESTRICTED Reporting

Allows a victim to receive: Victim advocacy, medical care, and counseling without an investigation being initiated or chain of command being officially notified. Must report to specific individuals only- – SARC, HCP, Chaplain or UVA Must acknowledge in writing his/her understanding that this option may limit the ability of the government to prosecute the offender.
