Chapter Objectives Distinguish between instruction and learning. Describe four psychological perspectives of learning discussed in the text. Define the term medium. Name six basic categories of media. Explain the concrete-abstract continuum, indicating how it can be used to aid in the selection of media. Discuss five roles of media in the instructional process, giving an example of media used in each role. Describe 6 of the 10 methods of instruction discussed in this chapter. Discuss technology and distinguish between instructional technology and instructional systems.
