Welcome to the Library Media Center Mrs. Smith

The Library Media Center provides open access for all students. Times: 7:15 During class with teacher’s permission During break

FICTION Fiction is... literature created from the imagination, though it may be based on a true story or situation. Types of literature in the fiction genre include novels and short stories, such as mysteries, science fiction, romance, fantasy.

NON FICTION Nonfiction includes... biographies, autobiographies, languages, history, art and music, science... Informational books When you read nonfiction, you're reading about something that really happened — it's not a story somebody made up.

Accelerated Reader - AR There are AR books in both Fiction and Non-Fiction. AR books are indicated with a white “AR” sticker on the spine of the book. Additional AR information (reading level, points, etc.)are indicated inside the book.

Checking Out  Find the items you want to check out and bring it to the circulation desk.  Library staff will locate your student information, scan your books’ bar code, and stamp your book with the due date. ** You can have 2 items checked out at the same time.

Checking In  Make sure that you give the book to the library staff worker to be scanned and checked in.  FINES ** $0.10 per day for books that are overdue.

Computers Students can print items needed for school assignments for: $0.10 – black and white $0.20 – color text -- cost for printing pictures will be based on size and color. Computers are available for use.

Computers Library staff will be happy to assist you in looking up and locating specific books. Book look-up (online card catalog) - Atriuum - You can search by: 1. Title 2. Author 3. Subject
