5 Library Mission In conjunction with our school’s Mission Statement, the Library Media Center will provide access to print, non- print and electronic media for students, parents and staff. The Library Media Center staff will instruct the members of the school community in research strategies for information retrieval, utilization and dissemination. This instruction plus access to a variety of formats containing educational and useful information will help to equip our students to fulfill their educational goals, allowing them to influence the course of events in the twenty first century. 6 Main Focus: Students are effective users of information. Provide a diverse collection of resources. Encourage the love of reading and learning.

8 Media Center Rules Students must have a pass in order to use the Media Center. Students must enter the Media Center quietly.

9 Rules  Students can use the library during periods marked “O.A.” (Open Access) on the library schedule. Check the schedule before requesting a pass from your teacher.

10 Rules Refrain for eating or drinking. Keep hands, feet, and objects to themselves. Follow directions. Be respectful to teachers and classmates. Not mutilate books. Leave the library neat.

11 The Media Center is …… A laboratory experience where students develop an understanding of how to access and use information for their own learning needs.

12 Students must sign in at the Circulation Desk with the Media Specialist when entering the Media center and before using the computers.

13 Circulation  Students are allowed to borrow materials for a period of one week. Materials may be renewed unless requested by another person, or if the student has overdue books.  Reference materials are restricted to use in the library.
