Unit 2 Growing Pains Reading Home Alone

Now, let’s turn to our textbook.

From Unit 1, we have learned two of the basic reading skills, skimming and scanning. In the reading part of this unit we are going to learn a special literary form play. Please go through the Reading strategy at Page23 and tell me how to read a play. 阅读 23 页下方的阅读策略。

First reading: Skimming and scanning Give you 3mins,Skim the play and answer the questions. 1. Who are the main characters in the play? A:The main characters are Dad, Mom, Eric and Daniel. 2. Why was Dad very angry with Daniel? A:Dad was very angry because the house was very dirty, and the room was in a mess. 3. What happened to their dog, Spot? A:Spot was ill and was taken to the clinic by Daniel and Eric.
