Presentation transcript:

Adolf Hitler By: Zach Powell

Birth and childhood: Hitler was born April 20, 1889. He was the fourth child of Alois and Klara Hitler. His birth town was a town called Barunqu. Two of his siblings died from diphtheria and one died soon after birth. At the age of 3 he moved to Passau along the Inn river

Hitler’s life as a young boy: He was a star pupil in primary school and was very admired by younger students. Hitler was very popular as a young person. He was deeply religious, and for a while considered the possibility of becoming a monk. When Hitler moved up to secondary school, he was no longer the smartest in class. This upset him and him, being very stubborn, wouldn’t let anything his mother nor teachers said to him. Later in school, his favorite interest was art. He applied for Vienna ,but the Vienna academy of art rejected him. He was humiliated by this.

Hitler’s military career: In 1909, Hitler registered for military service. At first they rejected him because they saw him as “too weak to bear arms.” When WW1 broke out, it gave Hitler a fresh start. Hitler rejected the idea of serving for Austria and registered for the German army. Hitler liked fighting for Germany, as it was a common goal. In 1918, Hitler was blinded by a British mustard gas. While he was in the hospital, Germany surrendered.

His life after the first world war: After healing, the war was over, and he was stationed in Munich. He, along with other soldiers, was arrested in Munich for being accused of being a socialist. His officers liked his left wing ideas and recruited him. His new job was a political officer. He was to lecture soldiers on politics. In September of 1919 He was instructed to attend the meeting of the GWP. He was immediately asked to join the executive committee and was later appointed the party propaganda manager.

What he did with the party: Hitler brought many people into this party. They were all friends of his in the army.

Captain Roehm: Roehm was one of the people he brought into the German workers party. The arrival of Roehm was important, because Hitler now had access to the army political fund and was able to transfer some of the money to the GWP.

Hitler’s speaking: When speaking, Hitler would always wait until complete silence to start talking. He would start straight into hard deep speaking while moving his hands with emotion. As he went on, his voice would get louder, and become more passionate. Sometimes his voice would crack with enthusiasm.

Hitler’s reputation: Hitler’s rep. as an orator grew. People knew it was clear that he was the main reason people were joining the party. He gained extreme power in the party. They knew the couldn’t afford to lose him.

Hitler’s control on the Jews: The number of Jews in his control grew as German forces went deeper into the Soviet Union. Over 2 million Jews lived in the Soviet Union.
