Fought in WWI and thought that Germany’s surrender was a sign of weakness.
Ruler of Germany for 13 years from 1933 to 1945.
His invasion of Poland in 1939 led to WWII.
Very underestimated by other countries.

4. A Good Leader?
Great public speaker – well spoken, he had powerful words, he understood the power of words and used that to his advantage.
Good ideas in reforming Germany – Wanted to develop the country economically and socially after the damage of WWI. (Methods of doing this were obviously very wrong)
Able to make plans and put plans in to practice.

5. Other Qualities...
Would apply his speeches to all – It is said that Hitler geared his speeches to the lowest IQ level of his audience so all would understand.
Took consideration when it came to the German soldiers so people believed he deeply cares for each individual.

6. What Did Others Think of Hitler?
Before the war officially broke out, all kinds of people would listen to his talks (even Jews) because they said he moved them emotionally.
Germany thought he was the next best thing since sliced bread because he would take them out of their depression.
Britain and France thought he was harmless. Once they had promised him some land, they believed that this would keep him happy and he wouldn't ask for much more.
