Gifted and Talented Theme Every student has gifts and talents. We help you find, explore, and build those gifts and talents through academics and our electives.

Magnet Program Courses in English (language arts), math, social studies, and science are targeted to the needs of magnet students. A full range of fine arts (talented) offerings including communications, band, chorus, orchestra, and art is available

High School Credits Math- 6 th grade-6/7 compacted 7 th grade – 7/8 compacted 8 th grade- Algebra 1-high school credit

Other High School Credit Opportunities 8 th grade- Physical Science 8 th Grade -Spanish

How can you apply? 1. Application 2. Grade point average (B or above) from last school year and 1st semester of this school year (attach report cards) 3. No discipline referrals 4. CRCT Scores (830 or above in all content areas) or other standardized assessment 4. Teacher Recommendations -current language or math teacher and one other that knows the student well as speak on academic performance, behavior and attendance 6. Entrance Exam – Dates: December 5, 2015 and January 16, 2016 Time: 8:30a.m -12:00 pm

Community Service Complete five hours per nine weeks. You can choose your own community service activity. The magnet teachers and school will provide you opportunities. Log sheet provided by the magnet coordinator.

Other Requirements The student will participate in at least one academic club-Debate Team, Reading Bowl, Academic Bowl, Math Team, Science Olympiad or Spanish Club. The student will complete required projects for Social Studies and Science Fairs.

Transportation Must fill out the application (even if this is your home school) Provided for magnet students

Probation C in any class Gifted students-no lower than an 85 Behavior – excessive detentions/office referrals Community Service (must complete all) Parent Conference required Contract Removed from magnet to traditional program or return to homeschool
