Gospel of Grace Fellowshipggf.church2 Romans 2:5-6 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS: “storing up” = thesaurizo – to store up treasure with interest! “in the day of wrath” = the future day of the Lord Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”
Gospel of Grace Fellowshipggf.church3 Romans 2:7-8 to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; 8 but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. Romans 3:12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” 2 Thessalonians 1:8 …dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
Gospel of Grace Fellowshipggf.church4 Romans 2:9-11 There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek, 10 but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God. “tribulation and distress” = this will occur in the future day of the Lord. “the Jew first and also to the Greek” = Rom. 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Gospel of Grace Fellowshipggf.church5 1.We must know that God is impartial towards the way He judges people. 2.We must not be fooled by the fact that the unrighteous often thrive in this world. God will judge them. 3.What are you storing up?
Gospel of Grace Fellowshipggf.church6 God doesn’t favor the wealthy or powerful: Job 34:17b-19 …will you condemn the righteous mighty One, 18 who says to a king, “Worthless one,” to nobles, “Wicked ones”; 19 Who shows no partiality to princes nor regards the rich above the poor, for they all are the work of His hands? God doesn’t favor the Jew over the Gentile: Acts 10:34-35 Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, 35 but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him.
Gospel of Grace Fellowshipggf.church7 Romans 2:9 There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek… Acts 14:22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.” In This AgeThe Age To Come
Gospel of Grace Fellowshipggf.church8 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, 8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed…
Gospel of Grace Fellowshipggf.church9 Matthew 6:19-21 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; 21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
